Each shipper pays for the space and weight their cargo occupies. The remaining capacity is filled by other cargo on the same route. At the destination, shipments are separated and delivered individually.

Transit times depend on the origin, destination, and the consolidation schedule. Groupage is typically slightly slower than FTL because cargo passes through a consolidation hub before dispatch. As a general guide, groupage within Central Europe and the Nordics takes one to two days, while destinations further east in Eastern Europe may take two to four days.
